Improvement support booklet

Care Inspectorate's Improvement Support team has worked with Sonia Sparkles, an illustrator who specialises in producing improvement and care illustrations to create an improvement booklet. This booklet sets out our improvement strategy, the role of the improvement support team and also key improvement messages for providers, services, staff, people using the service and their families or carers. This can help you with any improvements you want to make and guide you to test out your changes using the Model for Improvement and it is in a simple, informative and creative format and we would like you to download the resource from the HUB and use this to promote improvements in care in your own area. Norovirus Guidance for Care Homes

Heath Protection Scotland has updated their guidance documents on Norovirus for care homes. This guidance for Care Homes has been developed to provide key information to assist with prevention and control of cases of Norovirus in care homes. The checklists included in the packs should be used in addition to the Standard Infection Control Precautions (SICPs) and Transmission Based Precautions (TBPs) as per the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual (NIPCM).

Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 Code of Practice - Code of Practice for Continuing and Welfare Attorneys

The Scottish Government guidance regarding continuing (financial) and welfare powers of attorney, as required under the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000. The Code covers information on creating a power of attorney, when an adult who has capacity to make his or her own decisions can appoint a person or persons to act on their behalf and make decisions on financial and/or welfare matters should capacity be lost in the future. The Code also sets out guidance for persons appointed as attorneys who are acting on behalf of an adult who has lost capacity to make their own decisions. Second Edition (Updated February 2018).
