Social Work Scotland Conference 2017
Date of event: 14/06/2017
This year the Social Work Scotland Conference will hear from two government ministers across children’s services and justice where significant change is happening across child protection, historic abuse and community justice reform; and it will hear from the poet Lemn Sissey: a migrant from Ethiopia who grew up in the care system; and Bernadette Oxley, who is leading the ‘reclaiming social work’ agenda in Aberdeen City.
Workshops this year focus on practice examples to show you how others are managing change. Bang on theme are the young people from East Renfrewshire who redesigned their own services; but there will also be inputs about supervision and social work practice as well as other examples from justice and older people’s services to give you ideas and support you as professionals to get where you want to go.
