Dementia Events 2014/15
Approximately 88,000 people have dementia in Scotland. Around 3,200 of these people are under the age of 65. About 191,000 people work in social care and social work, and between 60 and 80% of the workforce are likely to work with people with dementia in some way.
We are committed to supporting improvements in dementia care and were pleased that so many people attended our dementia events during 2014/15, that we held in Dundee, Aberdeen, Irvine, Stornoway, Lerwick and Inverness. These events looked at:
- A range of topics that promote wellbeing and person-centred care for people living with dementia
- Learning opportunities to keep the experience of the person with dementia at the heart of what we do
In each section you can find a summary of what we covered at the events along with a short film clip to illustrate the key learning points.
