Prevention and Management of Pressure Ulcers Standards

Healthcare Improvement Scotland standards for the prevention and management of pressure ulcers as part of a review of tissue viability services. The Standards will apply to any person at risk of, or identified with, pressure ulcers regardless of age (including babies and children) and apply to services and organisations responsible for pressure ulcer care across health and social care. They take into account the national health and wellbeing outcomes and revised Health and Social Care Standards.

Adults with Incapacity - Sexual Relationships and the Criminal Law

Mental Welfare Commission advice note which looks at cases where the adult’s capacity to consent to a sexual relationship is doubtful. For professionals with concerns about the position of staff supporting people with mild learning disabilities where there is uncertainty about their capacity to consent to sexual relationships but there is no concern about the relationship being exploitative, and the position of the person engaging in sexual relations with the adult in the same circumstances.

BMA & RCN joint guidance on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) decision making.

The British Medical Association, Royal College of Nursing and the Resuscitation Council (UK) have issued new joint guidance on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) decision making. The Guidance updates previous editions published jointly in 2001 and 2007, both often referred to as the ‘Joint Statement’.

Do not attempt cardiopulmonary rescuscitation - Integrated Adult Policy
