For the partners in Edinburgh, the pilot initiative was a way to develop a methodology for engagement that is jointly owned by children, young people and adult duty-bearers which might then be shared as a model of good practice.

National Accommodation Strategy for Sex Offenders

Guidance on Parameters and Minimum Standards for Conducting Environmental Risk Assessments (ERA) has been published by the Scottish Government. The document has been produced in response to a recommendation in the HM Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland (HMICS) and Care Inspectorate Joint Thematic Review of MAPPA in Scotland, published in November 2015. The purpose of the minimum practice standards is to ensure national consistency of the data and information which is considered when carrying out an ERA across all Responsible Authorities, and to provide clear guidance on the information that must be checked when assessing the manageability of accommodation when housing registered sex offenders in local communities.

Fostering and adoption 2016–17 statistical bulletin
