Beating Cancer - Ambition and Action

A new strategy on cancer care in Scotland entitled ‘Beating Cancer: Ambition and Action’ has been published by the Scottish Government. The strategy contains more than fifty actions, including £3.5 million to drive improvements across the palliative care sector and to support targeted action on training and education. The strategy also notes the need for greater co-operation across health and social care services to ensure every individual should know about their treatment and have the information needed to help put them in control of their own care.

The Vision and Strategy for Social Services in Scotland: A one-year-on progress report

The Scottish Government has published a one-year progress report on the Vision and Strategy for Social Services in Scotland. The report outlines actions in the strategy which include the development of a summary of qualitative evidence from Chief Social Work Officer Annual Reports, Care Inspectorate information and SSSC workforce data.
