First Aid at Work

FAW  3 Day First Aid at Work

This 18 hour course for all work places where First Aiders are required, provides a range of First Aid skills. The course is usually run over 3 days, but can be run over more sessions if required. Each course provides 12 places.

 

Content includes:

 

Understanding the role of a First-aider

 

Use of PPE during Covid-19 pandemic

 

Administering First Aid to an unconscious casualty

 

Administer CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) Covid-19 safe CPR

 

Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

 

Treat a casualty who is choking

 

Administer First Aid to someone who is wounded and bleeding

 

Administer First Aid to someone who is suffering from shock

 

Treating casualty with:

 

    Injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injury

    Chest injuries

    Burns and scalds

    Eye injuries

    Poisoning

    Anaphylactic shock

 

Provide appropriate First Aid for minor injuries including cuts, grazes and bruises

 

This course meets the requirements of the HSE First Aid Regulations 1981 for First Aid at Work

 

Certificates awarded to successful candidates are valid for three years.

From the experience of providing registered day care of children, Bags specialises in First Aid training for those working with babies, children and young people.  We provide training to schools, nurseries, after-school clubs, youth clubs, childminders, nannies, parents and community groups.

Qualifications in Outdoor Education, first hand knowledge of a wide range of outdoor pursuits such as mountain biking, rock climbing, hill walking, canoeing and kayaking provides a foundation for the Outdoor First Aid courses.

Each First Aid course allows practical hands-on experience using casualty simulation and resuscitation manikins.  Childcare courses use special baby and child manikins.

Training classes are small with no more than 12 participants.  This ensures a friendly relaxed atmosphere and individual attention.
