Quality Assurance

TfC has a system of short course directorships for the four largest short course programmes: Epilepsy, First Aid, Food Hygiene, and Moving and Handling. The role of Course Director is to provide an experienced, professionally qualified, informed and authoritative position in the relevant subject area for overview of training content and standards and for reference by TfC’s management and customers. Course Directors ensure quality of training in their subject area by; selecting trainers; inducting and monitoring by observation and reviewing CPD.

For each course we ask participants to provide written feedback which is reviewed by the Course Director and Senior Manager for Training Provision and Quality.

We use this feedback to continually improve our short course provision to meet the changing needs of the sector.

We try to avoid complaints in the first instance by providing a quality service. We encourage customers to raise any issues with staff, and where a customer has an issue we attempt to deal with this promptly to avoid escalation. Any complaints are passed on to the Senior Manager for Training Provision and Quality to investigate and respond, with consultation with the Course Director. If unresolved, we will refer the complainant to our complaints procedure.
