Growing my potential
Practice note promoting safe, responsive, nurturing care and learning experiences and environments for babies and young children aged 1 and 2 years
The Growing my potential practice note has been designed to provide support and guidance to early learning and childcare (ELC) settings, including childminders, caring for children aged 1 and 2 years.
The earliest years of life are crucial to a child’s development and will have a lasting impact on their outcomes and wellbeing. This practice note shows the essential relationship between high-quality care and young children’s learning. It encourages staff to strengthen their self-evaluation approaches and supports continuous improvement to maximise the positive outcomes for our youngest children in Scotland.
This practice note promotes important aspects of high-quality ELC and complements A quality framework for daycare of children, childminding and school-aged childcare and the national practice guidance for early years in Scotland Realising the ambition: Being Me.
